I grew up Catholic but not involved in my faith. I thought about the priesthood when I was about 17 for about 2 seconds but I didn't know about my faith at that time. Then my mother invited me to go to Medjugorje for a time of prayer.
When I was there, a couple of people asked me if I was a priest. At that time I was just finding my way back into the Church. I had a biker's jacket on and a scruffy beard.
Years later, after Al-anon meetings, I would be in the parking lot for hours talking about Jesus to a friend of mine from the meetings. I later started dating her but when I asked her out, she asked me if I were not meant to be a priest. Before we started going out, I went on a retreat hosted by the Redemptorists with a friend of mine. I was asked there if I was becoming a priest. I couldn't deny the thought in my heart. This seed was planted for when the relationship with the woman from Al-anon got more serious.
I prayed that Jesus would show me if He wanted me to be a priest. I asked for two specific signs. I could feel Christ tell me of another sign that would be given. Within a month all three signs came true. I talked about it to my spiritual director and he called the vocation director immediately. The next spring, I sold my house in two days and I was able to follow Gods will. I have my heavenly Mother to thank for this gift,
Thanks be to God!
