St. Therese Retreat

Have you ever thought about the possibility of being a religious sister?  Discernment of a religious vocation can be a difficult thing.  Society seems to value money, promiscuity and freedom much more than the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience that religious sisters take.  Many young young women have sensed a call to the religious life as a sister but are not sure how to go about answering that call or even if it really is a call from God.

If you are at least open to the possibility of being a sister and want to take some quality time to get to know some wonderful sisters then I would like to invite you to this years St. Therese Retreat.  The retreat will be taking place at the same time as the St. Therese Summer Camps for jr. high and high school aged girls at Bishop Lane Retreat Center.  Some of the events will take place with the younger girls but there will be separate talks and discussion groups for the college age girls.

If you think that it would be helpful to you to spend some quality time with other college age girls and some wonderful and faith filled sisters then make sure you don't miss this great opportunity!

The retreat is being sponsored by the Vocation Office of the Diocese of Rockford and is being coordinated by Fr. Aaron Brodeski, Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Rockford.  The actual retreat itself will be facilitated by some wonderful religious sisters from around the country.  This year we are blessed to have 5 different religious communities who will be present for the whole week.  If you want to find out which communities of sisters will be facilitating the camp please click here for a list and for links to their communities web sites.

If you have any questions or want more specific information, please don't hesitate to call Fr. Aaron or our secretary, Dorothea, at the Vocation Office for the Diocese of Rockford at (815) 399-4300 ext. 387.  You can also print out the registration forms by clicking here.
