Vocation Story
My vocation story began for me a lot later in my life. I was not one of those that knew he wanted to be a priest since he was in the second grade. In fact it was not even a thought through any of my high school years. Into my college years there formed in me a concern for purpose in which I asked many of those fundamental questions of "what is life about" or "what is my purpose in life." Coincidently around the same time I had really begun to practice my faith more seriously than I ever had (i.e. I began to develop a prayer life, etc.). It was only after living my faith seriously and developing a solid foundation in my prayer life that I then began to really hear God calling me to something more. The realization of what that was and my response to it was gradual. However there was finally the day when I decided to say yes to the Lord and to check out the priesthood by going to the seminary and seeing if this was for me. Over seven years later I am a transitional deacon, months away, God willing, from ordination to the priesthood.
