Vocation Story
I am now 32 years old and in looking back over the
years I find that I began thinking of the priesthood when I was in high school.
I felt then, as I do now, that service to others and a close relationship
with God are two things in one's life that is most fulfilling and will also be a
help to others on their journey to the Lord.
I am fortunate to have positive role models in my
family that have shown strong devotion to God and the Catholic faith.
I had a most positive role model, as well, in my pastor, Father Tom
Dempsey, when I was growing up and attending St. Patrick grade school in St.
Charles.
While attending Quincy University I continued to discern the priesthood.
I began attending retreats about discernment.
I had many discussions about my priestly calling with my family members
and priests that I have known.
I have turned to my home diocese, the Rockford Diocese, for the support, education and guidance in attaining my goal to become a priest, a servant of God.
